Our summer 2013 medical
team is finishing our 5th of seven clinics today in Khanh Hoa
province.
We should have update this
page daily, but we could not find time or energy at the end of each day to tell
you about our clinics, our travel, our patients and the friendship we are
experienced in Vietnam.
We started this mission in
Phu Ninh, Phu Tho. The area is one of
the poor communities North of Hanoi. We
took care of 150 students and 13 teachers at Phu Ninh Middle School. The children were eager to speak English to
our American team and they were so good helping us setting up and tearing down
the clinic. We offered to pay for their
services but the children declined.
We went to the Central of
Vietnam and working at Tam Ngoc village, the People Committee offered just a
one room conference for the team to work, it was not an ideal spot but the
smiles from our patients and the gratitude from the government workers made it
worthwhile. Most of the Ba (grannies)
and the Ong (gramps) came just to see us out of curiosity, the last American
they saw were our USA soldiers occupying Vietnam in 1973.
In Dien Ban we have ½ of
the community clinic to work. Dr. Ho, the clinic’s director was so impressed
with the team, he brought his own mother to be seen by our team doctor. Many children here need dental cares and as
always, the dental clinic was the last to pack up at the end of the day.
Again, we apologize for
have not been able to keep you up to date, we will doing our best to give you a
snap shop of our journey… Please keep all of us in your prayers.
