JENNA SEBRANEK
Hi Team! I’m Jenna Sebranek, a second year family medicine resident physician at Mayo Clinic in La Crosse, WI. As a family doctor, I treat everyone from birth to death, but my favorite parts of family medicine are women’s health, obstetrics, and seeing the babies I delivered grow. My husband, Terry, and I are originally from a town of 5,000 in Wisconsin and we’re looking to go back there to practice full spectrum family medicine after completion of residency. He continues to work as a financial advisor in our home town, and is looking forward to losing the commute in the near future!
We are excited to meet everyone and for the trip. We are lucky to be doing this trip with a great friend from residency, who we’ve become close with over the past year, Courtney Nibbe. We hope to make some great memories. Between medical school and undergrad we did medical mission work in Jamaica, and continue to be very active with that group. However, this year we wanted to do something different. I first heard about COPI from faculty and senior residents who have completed the trip in the past, and thought it sounded like a marvelous opportunity to not only do work abroad but also get to see the whole county. Terry and I have no children but have two crazy dogs, and we thought it was the perfect time in life to go on an adventure and give back all at the same time! This will definitely be a highlight of my residency, and I’m very much looking forward to it!
TERRY SEBRANEK
Greetings future friends! My name is Terry Sebranek. During the day, I’m a partner and financial planner at Rewald, Sebranek & Frawley. My nights and weekends are spent volunteering in our community and being available for my wife during residency. I am the president of our local college’s Foundation and also help out with 4-H and hospital committees.
I enjoy gardening, cooking and spending time on our 4th generation farm with my family who all live nearby. Because we split our time between Richland Center and LaCrosse, WI, I spend a fair amount of time commuting and taking care of our homes while Jenna is at the hospital.
I’m excited and honored to be part of the upcoming Spring 2015 trip. While the trip will be both inspiring and rewarding, I’m looking forward to spending two and a half weeks with Jenna. The last time we were together for two uninterrupted weeks was undergrad (or maybe a trip to Alaska during med school).
